Ho Ho Ho - unless you're Down Under!

hohoho.jpg

If there's anything guaranteed to make a jolly Santa see red, it's banning him from using his jolly "ho ho ho" greeting - which is precisely what those dumb Aussie authorities have done. Apparently "ho ho ho" could frighten children or be derogatory to women! They're being told to say "ha ha ha" instead!

Madness! Pure madness!

Now if Father Christmas jumped out of the chimney and yelled "Agggghhhh, I'm going to cut your head off with this cleaver and rip your entrails out of your neck with a spoon, you bitch!" I could possibly understand the concern. In the meantime, I imagine the rest of the sane world is thinking "Ho ho ho, what stupid Aussies".

I'm Aussie, but political correctness in this country is getting worse, and apart from the ho ho ho, now everybody is saying happy holiday, because Happy Christmas will offend the non-Christians in our wonderfully 'multi-cultural society'

Yes! I am an Aussie, and I too feel that The Ho, ho, ho debacle is ridiculous. I also feel that the only reason political correctness gains momentum is the rest of the saner element takes notice of it. I say, treat it as the joke that it was intended to be. Then maybe it will go away.
